What Is Brow Lamination?

about us images

If you struggle to keep your eyebrows in your desired shape, it might be time to consider getting brow lamination in Shoreditch. We know, brow lamination sounds a bit odd, but stick with us, because it’s definitely worth it.

Brow lamination is essentially a treatment that ensures your eyebrow hairs always point in the right direction – whatever that is for your chosen look. Think of it a bit like getting a lash lift for your eyebrows, but instead of curling your eyelashes, you’re straightening out your eyebrow hair.

This means it’s ideal if you’ve got small gaps between your eyebrow hairs, some of those hairs grow in odd directions or you simply always want to wake up and look polished.

A brow lamination appointment involves a few stages. First, getting the hairs to sit in the right direction before a laminating solution is applied to “fix” them in place. Once the laminating solution has done its work, you’ll usually apply a serum to help prevent any damage to your newly shaped eyebrows.

While there are at-home treatments for brow lamination, it’s always better to get your treatment from a professional rather than risk getting it wrong when you go it alone – like Selena Gomez admitted a couple of years ago.

How long does brow lamination last?

Provided you take care of your brows after your treatment and follow the directions of your therapist, such as not getting them wet for 48 hours after you’ve had your brow lamination, the effects can last up to eight weeks.

This can vary depending on the kinds of activities you do though, so speak to your therapist when you have your treatment to find out what you can expect in terms of the longevity of your newly tamed brows.

Is brow lamination different to microblading?

Brow lamination is a very different process to microblading as it works on your eyebrow hairs rather than on the skin. Microblading treatments can be painful as the therapist is using fine needles to put pigment into the skin, a bit like a tattoo.

This means microblading is typically better suited to people who lack eyebrow hair, or whose hair is a very pale shade. Brow lamination works best for those with reasonable eyebrow hair coverage where there are small gaps that would benefit from filling rather than broader lack of hair.

You can also combine your brow lamination with a tint, so if you have pale eyebrows, this can solve that challenge as well as helping them stay in the perfect shape.

How long does brow lamination take?

A standard brow lamination takes approximately 40 minutes, while if you also want to apply a tint, you should allow 50 minutes. For a full eyebrow makeover, we also offer an appointment that includes brow lamination, a tint and threading, which takes around one hour.

The best part is that we come to you – no need to factor in time to travel to a beauty salon. All of this can be done safely and to perfection in the comfort of your own home.

If you’ve got friends who are also interested in having a brow lamination, why not make a day of it? A therapist could come to one of your homes and give each of you a bespoke treatment, allowing you to enjoy some time with your friends while getting your beauty treatment.
